Courtney Proefrock

I was born and raised right here in toasty, Arizona. As a child, my family, and our dogs, spent many days hiking, collecting stones, skulls, pods, and anything interesting, and turning over rocks, looking for things that slither and crawl.

When I wasn’t out on some crazy adventure, I worked with my hands making things out of paper, string, fabric, and paint. I even learned to sew at a young age. I don’t remember a time in my life when I wasn’t making something!
The outdoors and crafting were my classroom; see, I was homeschooled. That offered me so much time to explore my natural abilities and interests.

All these years later, I still have a passion for making things with my hands and the outdoors! My husband and I have a rooftop tent on our truck. We will load up the dog and take off for days. Actually, we spent a few weeks in the woods of Colorado, where we got married in the snow.

My husband is a blacksmith, and I have always been fascinated with jewelers and metalworkers. The second I decided to start teaching myself silversmithing I never stopped. The combination of metal, stone and small detail work made me fall in love with jewelry making!

We have transformed our garage into a workshop. Thank goodness for the portable swamp cooler and the industrial fan. If only those could blow the mosquitos away.

I use high-quality .925 sterling silver and natural minerals and stones that I source from locally owned or family-owned online businesses whenever possible. If there is something specific you are looking for, let me know, and I will keep a lookout.

I hope you enjoy my work. If you love what you see, I would appreciate a social media shout-out!
